Celebrating Milestones: Roberto Ramirez Retires after 52 Years!

On March 21, 2025, Roberto Ramirez retired from Decore-ative Specialties after 52 years! Roberto is one of the original employees who started at the El Monte, CA facility before moving to work the rest of his career at our Irwindale, CA facility. Roberto started in the sanding department when all sanding was done by hand and he eventually moved to various other departments, such as shipping and edge banding. We are proud to have amazing long-term employees, including Roberto, who dedicate their careers to serving our customers each day.

Roberto was involved outside of work with our Decore-ative Specialties family and participated in many weekend event “Fun Runs” over the decades that employees can join as part of our benefits program. "During my time at Decore, whenever they offered runs, I always made sure to sign up. I participated in so many races over the years that I lost count. I used to hang my medals on a wall, but eventually, I had so many that I had to start putting them in a bigger box. I always tried to attend each one."

Roberto had some words of wisdom he tried to live by when working at Decore-ative Specialties: "What I enjoyed most during my time here were the relationships I built with everyone. I truly loved spending my time here and always getting along with everyone I worked with. If I could give some advice, it would be to get along with others and not let issues or conflicts get in the way. Throughout my entire career here, I never had any problems with anyone, and that's something I would encourage my teammates to do as well."

With his new retirement schedule, Roberto looks forward to traveling more. He plans to visit his hometown of Guanajuato, Mexico and to visit family in North Carolina.
