Outside back edge detail options

There are several different options available for the Outside Back Edge. Some details may be better suited than others depending on your preferences.

There are two types of Outside Edge Details: Face and Back

  • The Outside Face Edge detail of a door may vary depending on its style.
  • The Outside Back Edge is a detail required for any door style made by Decore-ative Specialties. Below are several options available.

Here is an example of a door's Outside Edge Details:

Example

No Lip

This detail is commonly used when knobs or pulls will be installed on the door or drawer front. If Cabinet Opening Size is ordered, 1” will be added to the width and height.

No Lip

Fingerpull

This detail is commonly used when knobs or pulls will not be installed on the door or drawer front. This helps to give a smoother look to the cabinetry, while still being able to open the door or drawer easily. If Cabinet Opening Size is ordered, 1” will be added to the width and height.

Fingerpull

Lipped

This detail is not as common as No Lip or Fingerpull for new cabinetry, though many older styles of cabinetry feature this 3/8” x 3/8” lipped back edge. If Cabinet Opening Size is ordered, 1/2” will be added to the width and height.

Lipped

No Lip / No Outside Face Edge Detail (NLND)

This detail will effectively make the door or drawer front have a completely square outside edge. This type of detail is very common with Contemporary style cabinetry. This detail must be ordered with Finished Door Size.
